In recent years, team members have been invited for academic visits and exchanges to institutions including the University of New South Wales in Australia, the University of Hawaii in the United States, the University of Bath and De Montfort University in the United Kingdom, as well as the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, China. They have also been invited to participate in international academic conferences such as the 2014 Ocean Science Meeting (USA) and the 2017 International Congress of GSUA (Sweden).
