During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China initiated the development of 11 modern marine cities. Since the beginning of this year, these cities have leveraged their unique strengths to vigorously advance marine industries and accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces in the marine sector.

Since the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan, China has focused on supporting Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Qingdao in enhancing their core marine functions and distinctive features; promoting Tianjin, Dalian, Ningbo, and Xiamen to strengthen their competitive edges in marine-related fields; and guiding Qinhuangdao, Lianyungang, Beihai, and Sanya to expand their marine-oriented development.
